Paleo Sweet and Sour Meatballs Recipe


You’ll love this version of sweet and sour meatballs without any soy sauce.

  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground turkey or ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 large green pepper, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 can unsweetened pineapple chunks
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 4 tablespoons arrowroot powder

In a medium bowl, beat egg. Stir in ground turkey, salt and garlic. Shape into 30 meatballs. Brown meatballs in skillet in oil. Remove meatballs and add green pepper and onion and cook until tender. Drain pineapple and set 1/2 cup of juice aside. Stir in pineapple and return meatballs to skillet. Add chicken stock and bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, combine apple cider vinegar, 1/2 cup of the pineapple juice and arrowroot powder in medium bowl. Stir in honey. Add mixture to skillet and bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 3 minutes.
