Paleo Jamaican Jerked Chicken Appetizer Recipe

Oh yum! This is a delicious appetizer and really quite simple. The marinade should be made ahead of time anyway and the chicken strips cook up fast so you can spend time with your guests. If you don’t have chicken breast tenders you can slice chicken breasts thin, lengthwise and it will work just as well.

  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 teaspoons garlic cloves, minced
  • 1-2 tablespoons hot sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 3/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 pounds chicken breast tenders
  • Skewers

Mix all ingredients except chicken in a large ziplock bag or bowl. Add chicken and seal well or cover if using bowl. Marinade 6-12 hours. Remove chicken from bag and pat dry. Preheat broiler if using. Place chicken on skewers and broil or grill 8-10 minutes or until cooked through, turning once.
